Little Ballerina

Our little ballerina had her first dance class today. She had a special dinner at McDonald's beforehand and then, dressed in her pink tights and black leotard, we arrived at the dance studio. Her face was already red simply from the heat/humidity (over 100 heat index). We slipped on her tiny pink ballet slippers and sent her off to class. We heard music and thumping and even the clip-clopping of tap shoes at one point. After class, she emerged with a very proud smile on her face. When we got home, she showed us her moves - holding her foot behind her and rotating her foot in a circle. She also informed us that she got to do a somersault and jumps. She learned how to curtsy. She is now anticipating her next class with much excitement and we couldn't be happier for her.

Gameshow Gabriel

After putting the munchkins in bed last night, Josh and I heard Gabriel singing the Jeopardy theme song in "uh's" before succumbing to sleep. The amazing thing is that I think that show has only been on once in his life, he probably learned it from his sister who hums it occasionally...

Gabriel's 18mos Checkup

Other than being the ultimate crab-boy, Gabriel had a great checkup today.

Height: 32 3/4"
Weight: 24lbs 14 oz
Head: 18 3/4

He is in the 50-75% for each category, a very rounded boy. The doctor said the little bumps on his arms and legs aren't too much of a concern. Not eczema and nothing really "cures" it. She said it could be there for a while, even as much as a year. It doesn't seem to bother him or itch at all, so it's just a cosmetic issue more than anything else.

He didn't want her look him over at all and screamed the whole time - a complete difference from the way Krista's appointments went when she was little. He didn't have to have any shots, at least!

But.. Papa Said It!

K: Is this a freakin' bed, mom?
-
K: Shut your face!
-
K: What the hell?
-
And Mommy taught her:
K: Oh my goodness gracious.
-
K: Gabriel is a poophead.
-
K: It's okay, bug (to Gabriel). You'll get a poptart, too.
